HeyReagent / How to accept or decline LinkedIn invitations from your AI app
How to accept or decline LinkedIn invitations from your AI app
Ask your AI app for the LinkedIn invitations you have not answered yet, then tell it which ones to accept and which to decline. It reads the list first and changes nothing. Each answer goes out only for the person you name.

Who has invited me on LinkedIn?
Start by asking for the list. Your AI app runs one action that reads the invitations you received and have not accepted or declined yet. It only reads: nothing changes on your account.
- "Who has invited me on LinkedIn and is still waiting for an answer?"
- "List the LinkedIn invitations I have not answered yet."
list_received_invitationsList the invitations you received and have not answered.
Each invitation comes with an id and, most of the time, the profile link of the person who sent it. You do not need to copy the id. Your AI app keeps it for the next step.
The list comes 20 at a time unless you ask for up to 50. If there are more, say so and your AI app asks for the next page.
Can I see who someone is before I accept?
Yes. Ask about the person, and your AI app reads their profile from the link in the list: their profile in short, their recent posts and their company. This also only reads.
- "Tell me about the third person on that list before I decide."
- "Which of these people work in sales?"
get_profileRead one person's profile in short, with their recent posts and their company.
Sometimes LinkedIn gives no public name for the person who sent an invitation. Then there is no profile link to read, and you decide from the list alone, or in the LinkedIn app.
How do I accept or decline an invitation?
Name the person, or point at a line of the list, and say accept or decline. Your AI app answers that one invitation, now.
- "Accept the invitation from the first person on the list."
- "Decline the last two."
respond_to_invitationAccept or decline one invitation you received.
Each invitation is answered on its own, so asking for several runs the action once for each. The answer says whether it worked, which of your accounts it ran on, and how many invitations that account has answered today against its daily limit.
If you have more than one LinkedIn account connected, say which one. Without that, the first live account is used.
How many invitations can I answer in a day?
Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each LinkedIn account. For invitations accepted or declined it is 100 a day. Ask how much of today's limits you have used at any time.
- "How many invitations have I answered today, and what is the limit?"
get_usageRead how many of each LinkedIn action your account used today, and each daily limit.
The full list of limits is on the actions page. The same two steps, list and then answer, are also written out in the recipes.
Where to set it up
You ask in the AI app you already use. Connect it once, then ask in plain words as above. The setup for each app is on its own page: Claude, ChatGPT, Meta Muse, n8n, or the plain API.
Questions
Does listing my invitations change anything?
No. Listing the invitations you received only reads them. Nothing is accepted or declined until you ask for it, person by person.
Can I accept every invitation at once?
You can ask for that in one sentence, and your AI app answers each invitation in turn, one action for each. Each one counts toward the daily limit for invitations accepted or declined.
Does answering invitations use up the invitations I can send?
No. Invitations sent and invitations accepted or declined are two kinds of action, each with its own daily limit. Answering counts toward the limit of 100 a day, not toward the invitations you can send.
Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using it?
LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow automated activity, and LinkedIn can limit or restrict an account that it decides is automated. Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each account to lower that risk. The limits do not remove it.
