HeyReagent / LinkedIn automation
LinkedIn automation that asks before it sends
Most LinkedIn automation takes a message you wrote once and sends it to a list, on a timer. HeyReagent is an agent on your own LinkedIn. It reads each conversation, writes the next message for that person, and asks before it sends. Here is what that changes, what LinkedIn’s own rules say about automating, and what we do about them.
What people mean by LinkedIn automation
| A sequence tool | You write the steps and pick the list. It sends them on a schedule, the same steps to everyone on it, and stops when someone answers. From there the conversation is yours. |
| A workflow you build | Blocks you wire together yourself, in n8n or your own code. It does exactly what you built and nothing else. LinkedIn in n8n. |
| An agent | It reads what came in, decides what the next step with this person is, writes it the way you would, and shows it to you. The part after someone answers is the part it is for. |
We set HeyReagent beside five of the tools people compare, with each one's own words and prices: Dripify, Expandi, HeyReach, Valley, Gojiberry.
What LinkedIn says about automating
It says no. Two of its own pages, read on 7 October 2026:
- The User Agreement. Among the things members agree not to do: "Use bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages, create, comment on, like, share, or re-share posts, or otherwise drive inauthentic engagement". LinkedIn's User Agreement, section 8.2.
- The help page on tools. "we don't permit the use of any third party software, including "crawlers", bots, browser plug-ins, or browser extensions that scrape, modify the appearance of, or automate activity on LinkedIn's website." Members who use them, it says, "risk having their accounts restricted or shut down". Prohibited software and extensions.
That covers every tool on this page, ours included. Nobody outside LinkedIn can promise your account will not be limited, and we do not. What a tool can do is behave like a careful person would: little, slowly, and never the same thing twice.
What the agent does instead of a sequence
- Answers as you. It reads each new message and writes the reply the way you would. Send it, change a word, or skip it.
- Lets nobody go cold. It knows who went quiet and who you never answered, and has the follow-up ready.
- Finds your next five. It looks for the people worth your time and drafts a first note to each. Five new people a day at most. This is not a blast tool.
- Works toward a number. Tell it how many qualified meetings you want a week. That is what it is scored on, not messages sent.
- Messages you first. A short brief each morning, and a nudge when something needs you.
How it works, with what each of these looks like.
Stops that are in the code
These are not instructions it was given. They are stops in the code, so nothing it reads in your inbox can argue it past them.
- Nothing more to someone who said no, or asked for later, until you reopen them.
- No third follow-up in a row to someone who has not answered.
- No reply to a conversation it has not just read.
- A draft is held back if they wrote again after it was written.
- A link you never gave it is never sent on its own say-so.
- A daily limit on every kind of action, for each LinkedIn account.
The daily limits, for each LinkedIn account. There is no setting that raises them.
| In one day | At most |
|---|---|
| Invitations sent | 30 |
| Invitations accepted or declined | 100 |
| Invitations taken back | 100 |
| Messages sent | 100 |
| InMails sent | 40 |
| Messages edited, deleted or reacted to, and conversations deleted | 100 |
| Comments on posts | 40 |
| Reactions to posts | 40 |
You decide how far it goes
| Chat | It answers and shows. It touches nothing. |
| Cowork | It drafts and lines things up. You send, edit or skip. This is where you start. |
| Agent | It acts inside the limits you set, and tells you after. |
How you stay in control. What it costs.
Questions
Is LinkedIn automation allowed?
Not by LinkedIn’s own rules. Its User Agreement (effective 3 November 2025, read on 7 October 2026) lists among the things members agree not to do: “Use bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages”. LinkedIn says members who use such tools risk having their accounts restricted or shut down. That applies to every tool that acts on your account, this one included.
What is the safest LinkedIn automation tool?
There is no safe one, only more and less careful ones, and nobody outside LinkedIn can promise your account will not be limited. What you can look at is how a tool behaves on your account: how much it sends in a day, whether each message is written for the person, and whether anything goes out without you seeing it. HeyReagent has a daily limit on every kind of action that cannot be switched off, starts at most five new conversations a day on its own, and begins by asking before it sends.
Does it run sequences or campaigns?
No. There is no sequence to write and no list to load. It reads each conversation and writes the next message for that person. When someone has not answered, it follows up, and never a third time in a row.
Can it send without asking me?
Only if you tell it to. It starts by drafting: you send, change a word, or skip. You can let it send on its own for the things you trust it with, and take that back at any time.
Can I automate LinkedIn from my own AI app or n8n instead?
Yes. The same LinkedIn actions are open to your own Claude, ChatGPT or n8n over MCP and a plain API, with the same daily limits. That is the Connect plan, and there is a free one.
Rather have it done for you?
The Agent plan answers your inbox in your voice, follows up, and finds who to talk to today. You approve what it sends.
HeyReagent is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LinkedIn. LinkedIn's own terms apply to your account. What this page says about other products was read on their own pages on 7 October 2026.
