How to use Claude Haiku 5.5 on your LinkedIn inbox

Use Claude Haiku 5.5 for the LinkedIn work that is mostly reading many things: your whole inbox, everyone who reacted to a post, a long list of invitations. Anthropic says it is designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks. The LinkedIn connector is added to Claude, not to one model, so it is there with Haiku 5.5 too, and you can ask to see every draft before anything is sent.

What is Claude Haiku 5.5?

Anthropic's release notes for 7 October 2026 say this Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center:

"We just launched Claude Haiku 5.5, the cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model we’ve released, designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks."

Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center

That is all the notes say about it. The rest of this page is about what that means for work on your LinkedIn, not about the model itself.

Which LinkedIn work is high-volume?

Most LinkedIn work is reading before it is writing. Some asks read a few things. Others read dozens of them before you get one useful answer:

  • Every conversation where the other person wrote last and you never answered.
  • Every conversation that went quiet, to decide which ones are worth a follow-up.
  • Everyone who reacted to or commented on one of your posts.
  • Every invitation waiting for your answer, with a short look at each person.

These long reads are the kind of high-volume task Anthropic's notes say Haiku 5.5 is designed for Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center. A short list where each word matters is a different job.

What to ask Claude with Haiku 5.5

Start with asks that only read. Nothing on LinkedIn changes while they run:

  • "Go through my LinkedIn inbox and list everyone whose last message I have not answered, with one line on what each one wants."
  • "Look at the conversations that went quiet and sort them into two groups: worth a follow-up, and leave it."
  • "List the invitations I received, read each person's profile in short, and tell me which ones work in my field. Do not accept any yet."

Then act on the short list it gives you, one person at a time:

  • "Draft a two-line reply to the first three people on that list, and show me each one before you send it."
  • "Accept the invitations from the people you marked as in my field."
  • send_chat_messageSend a message into one conversation, with files, a voice note or a video note, or as an answer to one message.
  • respond_to_invitationAccept or decline one invitation you received.

Does Haiku 5.5 change the daily limits?

No. The daily limit on each kind of LinkedIn action belongs to your account here, not to the model that asks for it. A long read still counts against the limit for the kind of action it uses, and a reply still counts as a message sent.

  • "How much of my LinkedIn limits did I use today?"

get_usage answers with each count and each limit. What every action does, and its limit, is on the actions page.

Where to set it up

The steps to add the LinkedIn connector to Claude are on the Claude page. If you would rather have someone keep your inbox for you, the LinkedIn AI agent finds who is waiting on you and asks you before it sends.

Questions

Do I need to connect LinkedIn again to use Claude Haiku 5.5?

No. You add the LinkedIn connector to Claude, not to one model. If you added it before, it is there when you pick Haiku 5.5, and the same daily limits hold.

Can Claude Haiku 5.5 write my LinkedIn messages?

It can draft them like any other model in Claude. Anthropic's notes call it the most capable small model it has released and say nothing about messages in particular. Read each draft before it goes. Nothing leaves your account until a send action runs.

Is Claude Haiku 5.5 free?

The entry for Haiku 5.5 in Anthropic's release notes does not say which Claude plans have it. That is for Anthropic's own pages to say. Connecting your LinkedIn here can start on the free plan.

Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using it?

LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow automated activity, and LinkedIn can limit or restrict an account that it decides is automated. Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each account to lower that risk. The limits do not remove it.
