Claude Opus 5.5: what it changes for your LinkedIn

For your LinkedIn, Claude Opus 5.5 changes the model that reads and writes, not the way in: the LinkedIn connector is part of Claude itself, so it is there whichever Claude 5.5 model you pick. What changes is which model reads your conversations and writes your drafts, and you choose that in Claude as you always have.

What is Claude Opus 5.5?

Anthropic's release notes list three models in the Claude 5.5 family, in this order Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center:

Those are Anthropic's words. Nothing on this page compares the models beyond them.

Does the LinkedIn connector work with Opus 5.5?

You add the LinkedIn connector to Claude, not to a model. Connectors are a feature of Claude itself, so the connector you added before is the one Opus 5.5 uses. The entry for Opus 5.5 in Anthropic's release notes does not mention connectors either way Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center.

When Anthropic brought Cowork into every conversation, its notes said this about what moves with you Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center:

"Your chats, Cowork tasks, projects, connectors, and skills carry over."

What to ask Claude now

Use the asks that take reading and judgment, where the model does more than fetch a list:

  • "Read my LinkedIn conversations from the last month and tell me who I promised to send something to."
  • "Look at the people who commented on my last post and are not connected to me. For the five whose work is closest to mine, draft a short invitation note and show me the notes first."

Nothing is sent until you say so. The invitations go out only when send_invitation runs, one per person, and only after you have read the notes.

Opus 5.5 or Sonnet 5.5 for LinkedIn work?

Both reach your LinkedIn the same way, through the same connector, with the same daily limits on each action. Pick the model in Claude as you would for any other work. Anthropic describes Sonnet 5.5 as the faster, lower-cost complement to Opus 5.5 Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center, and Haiku 5.5 as made for high-volume tasks Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center.

Can Claude work on my LinkedIn while I am away?

Anthropic's notes on Cowork say that work continues when you close your laptop and that scheduled tasks run with no device online Anthropic: Release notes, Claude Help Center. On our free plan, LinkedIn is disconnected after a while without use, so a task that runs at night may find it disconnected and ask you to connect again. The plan that keeps LinkedIn connected is on the pricing.

If you would rather not set that up at all, the LinkedIn AI agent finds who to talk to next and asks you before it sends.

Where to set it up

The steps to add the LinkedIn connector to Claude are on the Claude page. What each action does, and its daily limit, is on the actions page.

Questions

Do I need to connect LinkedIn again for Claude Opus 5.5?

Is Claude Opus 5.5 free?

Which Claude 5.5 model should I use for LinkedIn messages?

Any of them reaches your LinkedIn the same way. Anthropic calls Sonnet 5.5 a faster, lower-cost complement to Opus 5.5. Pick the one you would use for writing anything else that matters to you.

Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using it?

LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow automated activity, and LinkedIn can limit or restrict an account that it decides is automated. Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each account to lower that risk. The limits do not remove it.
