How to follow up on LinkedIn conversations that went quiet
Ask your AI app which of your LinkedIn conversations went quiet, and it lists every thread with no new message for two weeks or a span you choose. Then read the one you care about, have a short follow-up drafted, and say send. Nothing goes out until you name the person and the words.

Which of my LinkedIn conversations went quiet?
Start with the list. Your AI app looks through your stored inbox for conversations where nobody has written for a while. Two weeks is the default. Say a number of days if you want a shorter or longer wait. It only reads, so nothing changes on your account.
- "Which of my LinkedIn conversations went quiet?"
- "Who stopped answering me on LinkedIn in the last 30 days, only people who wrote back at least once?"
who_went_coldList the conversations that went quiet.
Asking for only the people who wrote back at least once leaves out invitations and first notes that never got an answer. What remains are the talks that started and then stopped.
Read the conversation before you write
A follow-up lands better when it picks up where you left off. Name the person, and your AI app reads your whole conversation with them. Then it can tell you what was last said and who owes whom an answer.
- "Read my conversation with Marcus Lee and tell me where we left it."
get_conversationRead your whole conversation with one person.
How do I send the follow-up?
Ask for a draft first, read it, change what you want, then say send. Keep it short and about them. One message goes to one person, from your own account, when you say so.
- "Draft a two line follow-up to Marcus that mentions the pilot we talked about. Show it to me first."
- "That is good. Send it."
send_messageSend one message to a 1st-degree connection, or into an existing conversation, now.
The answer says whether it was sent, which account it went from, and how many messages that account has used today against its daily limit of 100.
What if the list looks out of date?
The list is read from a stored copy of your inbox. If that copy is missing or more than a week old, the answer says so. Ask your AI app to refresh your inbox, wait a moment, and ask for the list again.
- "Refresh my LinkedIn inbox, then tell me again who went quiet."
sync_inboxRefresh the stored inbox from LinkedIn, or one conversation of it, in the background.
People you connected with and never wrote to
A quiet conversation is one kind of loose end. The other is a connection with no conversation at all. Ask for your connections you have never exchanged a message with, from a day you choose if you like, and write to the ones worth it.
- "Which people I connected with since September have I never messaged?"
connections_never_messagedList your connections you never exchanged a message with.
Where to set it up
You ask in the AI app you already use. Connect it once, then ask in plain words as above. The setup for each app is on its own page: Claude, ChatGPT, Meta Muse, n8n, or the plain API.
If you would rather not ask each week, the LinkedIn AI agent keeps track of who went quiet and has the follow-up ready, and asks you before it sends.
Questions
How long before a LinkedIn conversation counts as gone quiet?
Two weeks with no new message, unless you say otherwise. You can name any number of days from 1 to 365, for example a week for a warm lead or a month for an old contact.
Will it send follow-ups to everyone on the list?
No. The list only reads. A message goes out when you name the person and say send, one message to one person each time. Ask for a draft first if you want to read it before it goes.
Can I follow up with someone who is not a connection?
An ordinary message reaches only your 1st-degree connections on LinkedIn. For anyone else, send an invitation first, or ask for an InMail if your account has credits for it.
Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using it?
LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow automated activity, and LinkedIn can limit or restrict an account that it decides is automated. Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each account to lower that risk. The limits do not remove it.
Rather have it done for you?
The Agent plan answers your inbox in your voice, follows up, and finds who to talk to today. You approve what it sends.
