HeyReach, Apify and Claude: check who is active before you invite

HeyReach published a guide on 22 October 2026 where Claude runs Apify scrapers to check which leads were active on LinkedIn lately, and only those go into a HeyReach campaign. You can ask Claude for the same check on your own account here: read a person's latest posts, comments and reactions, then invite the ones who are still around.

What did HeyReach publish?

HeyReach's post is a step by step guide that puts three tools together: Apify for scrapers, Claude as the operator in the middle, and HeyReach for the LinkedIn campaign HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads. In its own words, the guide shows how to:

"check every prospect for LinkedIn activity in the last 30 days, find people showing real buying intent, and send only the active ones to HeyReach"

HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads

The reason it gives is simple: people who do not open LinkedIn never see your invitation, and the invitation is spent anyway HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads. Everyone who does not pass the check goes to email instead, the post says HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads.

How does the check work in that guide?

You upload a list of profile links to Claude, and Claude runs Apify scrapers on it, cheapest first: reactions, then comments, then posts HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads. It tries a small pilot first and shows you the cost before the full run HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads. The output is two files, one for HeyReach and one for your email tool HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads.

The post also gives a warning about your LinkedIn sign-in HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads:

"Never give an Apify actor your LinkedIn login or session cookie. Use actors that work without it."

Can I run the same check from Claude here?

Yes, for a short list on your own account. Connect your LinkedIn here once, and Claude can read what a person did lately, one person at a time. Posts and comments come back newest first, each with its date, so the newest one tells you how recently they were active. Reactions come back newest first too.

  • "Here are ten profile links. For each one, tell me the date of their newest post and newest comment, and whether they reacted to anything lately."
  • "Put the people with nothing in the last month at the bottom, and show me the list."

There is no scraper account and no token to keep safe. You sign your LinkedIn in once, on a private link that Claude gives you.

Then invite only the ones who are around

Once you have the list, say who to invite and what the note should say. Ask to see the notes first if you want to change them. Each invitation is sent from your account when you say so.

  • "Invite the five most active ones, with a short note about the post they wrote last. Show me the notes before you send."
  • send_invitationSend one connection invitation, now.
  • get_usageRead how many of each LinkedIn action your account used today, and each daily limit.

Each check reads the person's profile first, and LinkedIn counts that as a profile view. Profiles read and invitations sent each have a daily limit, listed on the actions page.

What about people showing buying intent?

HeyReach's guide finds them by who engages with posts about the problem you solve HeyReach blog: HeyReach + Apify: Find Active, High-Intent LinkedIn Leads. Here you can do the same in two steps: search recent posts on that subject, then list who reacted or commented and is not yet connected to you.

  • "Find posts from the past week about hiring SDRs, and list who commented on the top three that I am not connected to."
  • search_postsSearch posts by words, date and who wrote or is mentioned in them, by name.
  • engagers_not_connectedList the people who reacted to or commented on a post and are not your connections.

If you would rather have this done every day, the LinkedIn AI agent finds who to talk to next and asks you before it sends.

Where to set it up

The steps to connect your LinkedIn to Claude are on the Claude page. The same actions work from ChatGPT, Meta Muse and n8n. How this compares with HeyReach as a whole is on the HeyReach page.

Questions

How do I know if someone is active on LinkedIn?

Look at what they did lately: their newest post, their newest comment and what they reacted to. Ask Claude to read those for a profile link, and the dates show you whether they were on LinkedIn this week or months ago.

Do I need Apify or a scraper to check LinkedIn activity?

Not here. Once your LinkedIn is connected, Claude reads a person's posts, comments and reactions from your own account, one person at a time. It suits a short list you are about to invite, not thousands of rows.

Does checking someone show up on their profile?

Each check first reads the person's profile, and LinkedIn counts that as a profile view. Profiles read have their own daily limit for each account, listed on the actions page beside every other limit.

Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using it?

LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow automated activity, and LinkedIn can limit or restrict an account that it decides is automated. Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each account to lower that risk. The limits do not remove it.
