How to withdraw LinkedIn invitations nobody answered

Ask your AI app to list the LinkedIn invitations you sent that are still unanswered, then tell it which ones to take back. It reads the list with list_sent_invitations and withdraws each one you name with withdraw_invitation. Nothing is taken back until you say which, and a withdrawal cannot be undone.

Which LinkedIn invitations are still waiting?

Start by asking for the list. Your AI app runs one action that reads the invitations you sent and that nobody has accepted or declined yet. It only reads: nothing changes on your account.

  • "List the LinkedIn invitations I sent that are still unanswered."
  • "Who have I invited on LinkedIn who has not answered yet?"

Each invitation in the answer comes with the person's profile link and an id for that invitation. You do not need to copy the id. Your AI app keeps it and uses it in the next step.

If you have more than one LinkedIn account connected, say which one, or ask for all of them. The list spans every live account unless you name one.

How do I take back one invitation?

Name the person, or point at a line of the list. Your AI app takes back that one invitation, now.

  • "Take back the invitation to the second person on that list."
  • "Withdraw my invitation to Anna Weber."

This cannot be undone. If you want to meet that person later, you send a new invitation. So read the list first and choose. Ask your AI app to show you who it is about to withdraw before it does.

The answer says whether it worked, which of your accounts it ran on, and how many withdrawals that account has used today against its daily limit.

What if the person already answered?

An invitation that was accepted, declined or already taken back is no longer there to withdraw. In that case the action answers that the invitation was not found, and nothing else happens. Ask for the list again to see what is still waiting.

Taking back many at once

There is a second way, for invitations that a campaign sent. It works by account or by campaign, not by person, and it only takes back invitations that have waited a number of days you choose. Run the preview first: it counts what a withdrawal would take back and changes nothing.

  • "How many of my campaign invitations have been waiting at least 21 days?"
  • "Withdraw the campaign invitations that have waited at least 21 days."

The withdrawal itself runs in the background, so the answer comes back at once and the work happens after it. Ask only once: asking twice queues the same withdrawal twice. For one invitation, whoever sent it, use the first way.

How many can I take back in a day?

Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each LinkedIn account. For invitations taken back it is 100 a day. Ask how much of today's limits you have used at any time.

  • "How many invitations have I taken back today, and what is the limit?"
  • get_usageRead how many of each LinkedIn action your account used today, and each daily limit.

The full list of limits is on the actions page. The same two steps, list and then withdraw, are also written out in the recipes.

Where to set it up

You ask in the AI app you already use. Connect it once, then ask in plain words as above. The setup for each app is on its own page: Claude, ChatGPT, Meta Muse, n8n, or the plain API.

Questions

Can I undo a withdrawn LinkedIn invitation?

No. Once an invitation is taken back it is gone. If you still want to connect with that person, send a new invitation. That is why it is worth reading the list before you choose who to withdraw.

Does taking back an invitation use up my invitations for the day?

No. Invitations sent and invitations taken back are two kinds of action, each with its own daily limit. Taking back counts toward the limit of 100 withdrawals a day, not toward the invitations you can send.

Can I withdraw invitations I sent from the LinkedIn app myself?

Yes, one at a time. The list shows the invitations you sent that are still unanswered, and withdraw_invitation takes back any one of them, whoever sent it. Taking back many at once works only for invitations that a campaign sent.

Can LinkedIn restrict my account for using it?

LinkedIn's User Agreement does not allow automated activity, and LinkedIn can limit or restrict an account that it decides is automated. Every kind of action here has a daily limit for each account to lower that risk. The limits do not remove it.
